About My Bright Day

My Bright Day will replace Bright Horizons’ traditional paper Daily Experience Sheets, allowing parents to access information about their child’s day via their smartphone or the web in real-time. Parents can also use My Bright Day to provide information about their child’s activities prior to arrival at the center; access previous Daily Reports, photos, or videos; and update their notification preferences. Bright Horizons centers will introduce My Bright Day on a rolling basis. If you have questions about when your center will introduce this new tool, please speak to your Center Director.

HOW IT WILL WORK:

At drop off:
Parents will access My Bright Day via their Android or iOS smartphone. Parents will enter the details typically provided via the paper Daily Experience Sheet including when their child woke up, last ate, was diapered/went potty, notes etc. Parents can do this while at the center, before arriving, or just after drop off.

Throughout the day:
Teachers will enter details of meals/bottles, diapers, naps, activities etc. Parents can login to the app at any time to see how their child’s day is going. Additionally, photos or videos taken during the day will be shared via the application, via email, or the web.

At the end of the day:
Your child’s Daily Experience Sheet will be emailed to you and made available on the app and the web. Parents will no longer need to remember to grab the paper sheet!

Accessing Memories:
On an ongoing basis, parents will be able to access a history of all past Daily Experience Sheets, photos, and videos. We hope that families will enjoy this convenient way to see how their child has grown and changed over time!

GETTING STARTED:

My Bright Day is being provided in partnership with Tadpoles, a leading provider of child care management solutions geared to helping child care programs involve parents and simplify operations. Using the My Bright Day mobile application you can submit routine drop off information, login throughout the day to view real-time updates on your child’s daily activities, see pictures and videos of your child, customize your settings, and view the full Daily Experience Sheet at the end of each day.

To access your account on My Bright Day:
· Download My Bright Day through the App Store or Google Play on your mobile device.
o If you have an existing Family Information Center account,
§ Simply login to the My Bright Day app by using the username and password you use for the Family Information Center.
o If you do not have an existing Family Information Center account,
§ Open the My Bright Day app on your mobile device and click, “Sign Up”
§ Create an account using the primary email address your center has on file for you. If you do not know the primary email address the center has on file for you check-in with your Center Director, call 855-239-3850 or submit a help request at https://familyinfocenter.brighthorizons.com/mybrightday/help.
o Check your email using your smartphone to access your temporary password & complete the steps to set up your personal password.
o Now you can login to the My Bright Day app using your newly created Family Information Center login!

Chris Hill: Absolutely terrible across the board. I get the same notifications repeatedly throughout the day. I get told through our the day I need to fill out forms I've already completed. This morning, I am unable to submit child updates. I've re-installed, logged in, nothing working. Bright Horizons openly acknowledges that there are continued issues with the app.

Chloe Redick: Edit: going down to 1 star because the app has been broken for about three weeks now. No updates about my children. What's the point of having the app if it never works. GIVE US A BETTER OPTION. Not sure what had changed but requires me to log in every time I open the app. Very annoying. Has been happening for about a week. Overall app is helpful. Hope this recent issue is worked out soon.

Camrin Edwards: ZERO STARS. The absolute worst app I have. In our area, Bright Horizons is one of the most expensive centers. To be paying that much MORE and have an app with so many issues is very frustrating. EVERY SINGLE UPDATE CAUSES MASS CHAOS. Other apps can update seamlessly, but not this prehistoric app. Teachers will write a note to me directly and I can't respond. The back button closes the entire app. Can't zoom in on pictures. The most frustrating is simply how glitchy and counterintuitive it is.

Jeff Collett: COVID update: no COVID screening options for check-in on Android. Have to use my wife's iphone. App navigation and UX is fine but not great. Would love to see an option to swipe photos/memories as opposed to going back then clicking the tiny thumbnail again. Works well for multiple users both my wife and I can see the kids and so can grandparents.

Breianna Murray: So promising but ultimately just missing a a few features to make it truly helpful. Overall very happy to have the app and do love getting pictures throughout the day as well as having the newsletter each day. A way to send messages to the teachers after drop off would be great (though I understand not wanting the app to be a distraction for teachers/taking them away from teaching!).

A Google user: It generally works. Most of the time. But I've made better apps. You have to log in again almost every time the app launches. The daily dropoff notes don't update as you make changes. Sometimes picture downloading randomly doesn't work. None of the UI shows any kind of activity indicator that things are loading in the background.

A Google user: This app feels clunky and limited. Is it a bug that I can't add or edit the drop off notes after my child is checked in? It would be much more useful to have a messages space where I can easily communicate with the teachers during the day if needed (i.e. "I might be later than my normal pickup time today"). Also, having to login every time I open the app is a pain. The Brightwheel app that my previous daycare used is much smoother, a nice interface, with more useful features!

A Google user: This app is almost great. A few suggestions: In the daily report, differentiate between videos and pics. Also, when clicking into media, it would be great to navigate to the next media file by swiping, rather than having to click back and then choose the next file. Give control to DL media over WiFi only. It would be great to know what staff are actually in the rooms each day, maybe at the top of daily report.

A Google user: App was working fine until recently. Now it hangs when trying to click into Daily report. Tried rebooting the phone and app, still broken. please fix the bug. Update: Thanks for fixing the bug. Would be great to be able to swipe to the next picture in the Daily digest instead of backing out and drilling back into each picture.

A Google user: The App fails to run on Samsung Galaxy s9. Current version loads slowly. And by slowly I mean it takes minutes to load if at all. Meanwhile the IOS version loads in seconds while on the same network and phones are next to each other. The Android version is buggy at best and is not functional at all. It crashes, fails to load, and generally is an awful experience.
