John Ottinger: Buyer beware!! The app does provide convenience however every few months they'll introduce a new "feature" that's promoted as positive for the customer, but really feels shady. It's still sort of a good deal but the price hike in October really averages out to be about $7.60/meal if you're getting 20lunches/month. I went to check other plans on their site but they make it hard to find their rates without signing up for a trial (behind a paywall). So yea, happy dollar cost averaging!

Zero Zou: 1/12/22 - the app UI has improved significantly since my last review. It makes my meal decisions easy and saves my time cooking. However, I don't like its 3-month max hold time and Email-only meal plan resume notification. For multiple times I've missed the resume dates to extend my hold and ended up going to my office just to pick up my meals. --- As of 12/5/18, it has stupid bug that prevents me from correctly signing in.

A Google user: Just about the best food thing to happen to me in years. Think of it as a menu that covers hundreds of restaurants within walking distance. I tried something like 100 different restaurants last year through Mealpal. Pros: You will range far and wide and try many new restaurants and dishes Skip the lines Rotating restaurants and dishes Cons: No alterations. Picky eaters beware Limited options for vegetarians, vegans (for example) There will be some misses along with the hits

A Google user: Full score for the service. The app started getting better, recently, too. They show retail selling price and portion size, both of which are really strong factors for determining a restaurant convenience. Much more could be done in this direction, for example showing what venues get sold out first (even stronger indicator of people likeness). But when their servers crash? we do panic, since our lunch is on the line. A better fall back system is mandatory.

A Google user: Good price, but they added a feature to charge an extra dollar per meal, it's called a tip, and there's no confirmation screen, so if you click it by mistake, too bad (customer support said I have to click the right box). Anyway, decent price on food, gotta be careful about tip, bad customer support - not just my case, but a friend got ripped off when promotion didn't get applied.

A Google user: They offered $50 off in an email tiny print gave a one week period to get the discount. I've sent two emails to their customer service with zero reply in over a week. They have no telephone number. It charged me fees so mire than it even said it would be without the discount. The app has bugs, used it twice had issues both times. Theres a count down when picking up and both times I arrived when it should have been ready and both times it was not ready before I received my food.

A Google user: Honest review. I live in Chicago and I like the app. The food portions for each restaurant very, some are large and some are small. It is all about trial and error. I found a good rotation of restaurants near me and I am very satisfied. Now the last couple of days I have had some issues with the app loading and navigating it can be tricky, but in general it works well.

A Google user: Umm I like the redesign. The old one felt very MVP. Now I can see what meals are nearby much easier OR switch to the list view. Both seem much more scannable to me. Plus, it finally feels like an app that was built for Android. It's slick AND functional. Props to the design team! Mealpal I general has made my life so much easier at lunch time. I was scared to join at first because some of the reviews here but all around I've had a good experience. Thanks mealpal!

A Google user: New UI is way worse. Map is partially obstructed. There is no option to list all the choices, which is much easier and faster to visualize. Locations appear and disappear suddenly. Clicking on specific locations is very insensitive, I have to click multiple times.

A Google user: They don't have a phone number, you must email them. You can't cancel your membership without emailing them even though there's a misleading section labeled hold or cancel account. Some restaurants give the smallest portions and many are not listed anymore. The daily emails are annoying. I'm not even sure what the review after each meal is for??? You don't see that review reflected for any of the restaurants. Today, the QR scanner wasn't even working. Wasted time going to the restaurant trying to scan for few minutes looking like a helpless fool in front of the staff who had no idea as well. I know it's the app because I was able to scan the code with another app. Now I have to email them as I lost a meal as well. Extremely disappointing.
