The Bluetooth remote control app and the remote control handset included in the LEGO City train sets aren’t compatible with older infrared remote-controlled LEGO train sets.

Rick Brasche: used to work great now freezes on all devices. both cheap android tablet and samsung S20+. App gets to yellow splash screen and thats it. tried resets, checked for updates, nothing. gonna try uninstall and reinstall next. more stars once its working again

Jerry Gomez: The app was great when it still worked and now it's no longer available on my device (Samsung J7) so I can't even reinstall it now. It's even more infuriating because I spent hundreds of dollars on a technic hub and 2 L motors that I can't use now and are just paper weights. This is exactly why toys shouldn't be powered by a device that not everyone has let alone in a generation where not everyone has the same device. I shouldn't have to upgrade my phone for a toy that should've had a physical remote to begin with.

Kuba Radzikowski: Pixel 2 XL, All default permissions are allowed. App does not explicitly request Bluetooth permission, but tells you it is required (obviously). No way to enable this permission, and so no way to connect to the hub. Uninstall, reinstall did not help. Manual connection through the Bluetooth menu did not help. Confirmed: "no permissions denied" Official compatible devices does not shed any light either as 'Google Pixel C' is not a phone that exists. Tried with iPhone instead, no problems.

Jesse Horne: Allowed me to finally drive my buggy with twin stick controls. On-screen and physical keyboards don't work for naming even though every other app on my device works with them fine - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Clearly the app needs more QA work to provide a reasonable experience for the end user. I expect finished products from the Lego brand and this was disappointing as it behaves like a beta release.

Philippa Peto: Grand piano 21323 sheet music does not fit the tunes! The app itself works fine but given the incredible attention to detail in the physical model, it is very disappointing that the written sheet music on the app does not match the tunes that are meant to be played. Neither the notes nor the rhythm are correct so it is impossible to play the tune following the sheet music. This is a very expensive set clearly aimed at musicians and it would hugely improve the app to display the correct notes.

A Google user: *Read this if you need help connecting* Bought the lego Disney train. Been building and got up to the connecting the app. Was getting rather frustrated as it wouldn't connect at all, hardly no instructions what you need to do how to connect etc. After a little break, reinstalled the app had a look in what they need. As a MUST to make this work. You need to have bluetooth which you get told AND location services on. If location services is off, the app will not connect at all!

A Google user: As everyone here says: Attrocious! Batmobile controls do work for a random time between 1 and 5 seconds. After that one slider will stick and its impossible to control the car anymore. Clearly an app bug as programmed sequences work just fine. How can Lego, such a worldwide and reputable company release such a piece of garbage? Do they not do any testing whatsoever? (tried on 2 android phones, same behavior) Thoroughly dissapointing.

A Google user: Batmobile kit #76112 is a nice build, and the app looks like it'll be fun (programmable movements, sound effects, etc) but the left channel glitches on my Galaxy S9+ and becomes unresponsive after a few moments. requires app and pairing restart, which takes as long as the play time goes. "Minutes of fun" and until the app is fixed, the minutes are over. Disappointment on Christmas Day - good job, Lego. Edit: App date Dec 12, 2018. I installed Dec 25.

A Google user: Works well. But it would be nice to have additional sets supported as well. I installed the hub and battery box from the Passenger train into my Creator Winter Holiday Train and I have to press minus to drive forward :( I also bought the LED light from my local LEGO store. There is no way to turn it on or off via Bluetooth. It turns on automatically when the train starts.
