So, leaving it off might add 10 to 15 minutes of extra time for a device that typically gives five hours of screen-on time. Yes, it requires Bluetooth to be on all the time. No, it's not such a big impact on the battery life as you might think. It constantly monitors other phones around you - but it does not track nor remember your location or identity. The more people install this, the bigger impact it will have. And that's important.
