 وصحيح كتب الزوائد وهى :

 وذكروا المتن – وهو كلام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أو فعله أو تقريره – لكنهم حذفوا المكرر اختصارا أيضا.
 وتصيَّدوا الحكم على الحديث بالصحة أو الحسن أو الضعف، فالضعيف عند المحدثين يقبل، ولا يردون إلا شديد الضعف أو الموضوع.
 وشرحوا الألفاظ الغريبة بما يوضح المعنى.
 ورتبوا الأحاديث على الأبواب والموضوعات، واجتهدوا في ذلك، فأحاديث العلم في كتاب العلم، وأحاديث الإيمان في كتاب الإيمان وهكذا، مما ييسر الإستفادة بهذا الكتاب.
 إن هذا الكتاب جامع للسنة النبوية، مقرب لأحاديثها، ميسر للإستفادة بها.
 ولقد كان المؤلفين نشيطين في هذا العمل، وكانوا كلما طلبوا مني النصيحة قدمتها لهم.
