Sandra: Very expensive. There is no option to choose not to pay for a lead if it doesn't match what you're looking for. I include pet sitting with my services, and often I'm already booked for the dates the customers are looking at - so I've automatically paid for a lead I won't be able to do a job for. Similar to Bark, there should be an option to manually choose which leads you pay for and respond to. The app is also glitchy - it sometimes won't let me sign in, other times it just crashes.

Elizabeth Kontur: I've gotten a few good leads from Thumbtack, but I don't think the people there understand my industry (pet sitting) AT ALL - it's almost impossible to put in the preferences that I need, and even when I do, they keep reverting to bad settings. And when I write (because, of course, there seems to be no way to actually TALK to someone) and explain the problems, no one seems to actually read my email and try to do something about it! Very frustrating, to say the least!!

John Mittrucker: App keeps crashing while attempting to set up profile. Once I get to the point of setting my prices, a connection error occurs, I've made no less than 20 attempts, but the app won't allow me to move on from this point. Also, unable to enter targeting preferences, keep getting error on app. I've uninstalled the app and installed it twice, problems continue. This is horrible! Fix this!! I can't even complete my profile.

Adam Parker: Horrible experience with this app. I used it back in 2017 when you still had the credit system and it was only about 3 to 4 dollars for a lead. Even if it did not pan out you only lost the 3 to 4 dollars. Now? 20 to 50$! What's worse is now their is no limit to how many contractors can be reached out to by the consumers and the app actively encourages it! So you can wake up one day and see you have a lovely new targeted lead that auto billed you for 20 bucks. Along with 9 others!

Rev. Edward Vaughan: I have been using Thumbtack since 2017. I have been a top pro ever since I joined. You get a lot of leads, but the rates are too high and there is no guarantee you will book a client. For every $1 I give to Thumbtack i get $3 back in business. Thumbtack prompts customers to contact pros so they can charge us more in fees. Also the customers are not looking to spend much. Now they are changing the set up so you have to use automatic quotes to customers or you don't appear in search results.

Kassie Rapp: I would highly recommend you think twice before using this app. I already lost 100$ due to things not being explained thoroughly. I didn't know that leads cost a lot and you will still get charged even if you don't get hired...Not to mention it's against their policy to give you a refund directly back to your bank account...even if it was a faulty error on their end. I got charged twice for the same customer and they just refunded me the cheapest charge into thumbtack credit.

J Sileo: I really like the layout of the app. The interface is super easy for almost anyone to navigate. Also, I've had success using this app to find local leads. Sometimes I have paid for leads which don't contact back, which is annoying and draining, but the team has put in measures to help lower the lead prices which is appreciated. The service team is speedy in contacting about issues.

A Google user: This one is tricky, the interface is decent, no real complaints with the UI, however, the UX is lacking. I feel Thumbtack needs to improve on a few things. To get leads, you need to save a credit card, however, all leads are not equal (not by a long shot) As a video professional, there needs to be way more research done by the Thumbtack team to understand what services are worth. You should only pay for a lead if you book the job.

A Google user: Was skeptical at 1st having to pay to reach clients before making money but compared it to paying for ads. 1st few months were fine and reasonable the amount I was spending vs business with clients. Then, I was spending $20, $30 for "potential customers" who would never reply or disappear after a few messages. And when I would try to get a refund of charges (which is just a credit so they still have your $$) told to wait, then became too late to get a refund. Lost 50% of earnings to waste time.

A Google user: I don't appreciate that I am forced to finish a task, and I cannot back out of it until I do. I only wanted to browse the jobs and make sure the app was worth investing time in. App pulled up the "add a profile photo" screen, and refused to let me bipass it. I was not equipped with a headshot, SO ya'll got a picture of my cat. This has happened with a couple other pages too. The app either doesn't work properly or just isn't user friendly. Either way, I'm not into it so I am removing it
