L’application peut fonctionner en mode connecté (pour minimiser l’espace disque occupé) mais peut aussi fonctionner hors ligne après avoir téléchargé toutes les photos de votre choix. Elle peux ainsi être emmenée en voyage ou en bateau et être fonctionnelle même sans réseau.

Le guide offre plusieurs modes de recherches : textuel, par zone géographique, par espèce … Chaque espèce est présentée avec une fiche détaillée et des photos issues du site DORIS (http://doris.ffessm.fr) de la Fédération Française d’Études et de Sports Sous-Marins et sa commission Environnement et biologie subaquatiques.
Les textes donnent un accès direct aux définitions pour les termes les plus scientifiques.
